Luc and Rachel Rasmussen Visit

Luc brought his wife and two young sons to visit us for a few days.  Harry and George were very active but very nice little boys.  We certainly enjoyed their visit and it was fun to catch up on all our friends in Wales are doing.

Irena and Mike Rasmussen Visit

It was great to visit with Luc's parents.  They stopped by for about an hour on their way to the Bountiful Temple.  They are visiting so many of the temples while in the United States.
They are wonderful people from Swansea, Wales who have raised an exceptional family.

They wanted a picture of us too.

Lynne Pearce Naylor and Ben Visit

Lynne Pearce, a dear friend from the Rhiwbina Ward in Wales, has married Ben Naylor since we came home.  They came to visit us from the 4th to the 8th of April.  They are most pleasant and appreciative of anything we can do, and they are full of faith and so happy together.  It is nice to see that she has found such joy.  Lynne has the most delightful sense of humor.  When we decided to go someplace, she would say, "Okay, I better comb my hair and put my teeth in."  It is even better when you hear it in her lilting Welsh accent.

I must tell you the story of their meeting.  Lynne had been divorced for many years.  Ben's wife had recently died.  Lynne was at a bus stop and started talking to him.  She always talks to everyone and takes every possible opportunity to spread the gospel.  When she heard that Ben had recently lost his wife, she perked up and thought it a perfect opportunity to tell him about eternal marriage and that he could be with his wife forever.  One thing led to another and Ben joined the Church.  He is all in.  They fell in love and are now husband and wife and so very compatible.

Chen Chen Visits for a Day

We were glad to see Chen Chen again, even though he was only here long enough to do a load of laundry, then he was on his way again.  I can't believe how much he travels.

Sean Chen Chen Visits

Chen Chen came to visit us on Sunday and Monday.
His parents speak no English but are so very nice.
They both loved our home and his Dad especially loved the views we enjoy.

Chen Chen invited Bethany to our Sunday dinner.
She is studying at Woods Cross High School.
Her mother asked Sean to check on her.

Sean's mother truly enjoyed shopping at City Creek Center.
She bought a lovely necklace at Tiffany's among other things.

It was especially nice to be able to take Chen Chen's parents to Temple Square.

Dai & Andora Hole Came

We were thrilled to have Dai and Andora stay with us.  They came late Saturday night and we had a great time talking to them about what they have been doing and about what they will be doing in Wales.  Dai has a second interview when he goes back to Wales for a job in scientific, medical research and Andora will be teaching languages in a secondary school.  They now live in Chepstow, a marvelous small town.  They love it.  They are terrific.

Sunday morning we went to the Conference Center to hear the Mormon Tabernacle Choir's broadcast of Music and the Spoken word.  It was so nice.  Dai chose the second row and they were thrilled to be there.  Andora was especially happy about this.

Afterwards we went to Memory Grove and enjoyed walking around and enjoying the beautiful day.

We came home and had a meal of Chili Verde Chicken; steamed red potatoes, broccoli, cauliflower and carrots; rolls; Caesar's salad; and Chocolate Layered Delight for dessert.  They especially liked the chicken and the dessert.  They had several helpings of the dessert.  Made me so happy.

It was good to come home and have some down time.

We were able to go to Salt Lake and meet our daughter, Chantel, and her family as they were bringing Mason up to start at the University of Utah again.  He will live with his brother, Chase.

We hated to see Dai and Andora go Monday morning.  But they are on to Lava Hot Springs then to Jackson Hole and Yellowstone and on to Canada to Glen's home.  Glen is Dai's brother.

Sue Winters Visits

Welcome to our home, Sue.

It was delightful to have Sue Winters visit us yesterday, October 12th, and to have her attend Church with us.  She looked sensational and she is easy to talk with. I was especially pleased that she bore her testimony in our fast and testimony meeting.  It is strong and you could feel the spirit ratifying all she said. She has a marvelous knowledge and understanding of the scriptures, partly because she has taught seminary for 12 years.  She and Colin are converts and have raised a strong family of very capable people. Sue has been in America for a month as she came on a Church history tour and has enjoyed it immensely.

Ben LeFevre and Helen Wilson

I don't know whether anything will come of this, but Ben and Helen have been dating for quite some time.  To me they are the perfect couple.  Helen has been studying in France.

It is an interesting experience to take someone to Temple Square who has heard about it all their life, but has never been there.  It was a privilege to show Cathy around and experience her wonder at it all.

Sean Chen Chen Came From China

We were so excited to see Chen Chen when he came to Salt Lake on March 13, 2013. while on his visit to the United States. He had been in San Francisco, then came here and was on his way to Moab then on to Arizona with the two young women who were acting as tour guides.

We took him to lunch at the Garden Restaurant in the Joseph Smith Memorial Building so he could overlook the Salt Lake Temple. It was so good to talk with him and learn that he is still active in the Church in Shanghai and is doing well in his job. His English is really good but fun as he has learned British English. He is an amazing young man. He is fun and so easy to talk to.  It was as if we hadn't been apart for three years.

Chen Chen was excited to see the temple and to tour Temple Square.  It was such a joy to see him.

James Snookes and Fiancee Visit

We were so excited that James would bring his fiancee to meet us.  Ashley is beautiful, intelligent and delightful.  They met in Swansea. She came from Lewiston, Idaho to study at Swansea University  to get her Master's Degree.  They are wonderful together.  I had tickets to General Conference that they used and they loved being able to go to the Conference Center.

This is the photo for their wedding invitation.
The date is May 5, 2012, in the Columbia River Temple.
Then a reception in Lewiston and then in Swansea.
They move to Japan right after that.
I love the "can do" attitude of young people.
